This first project, an oceanfront home, is what I started the business with. It was for a family who had purchased a summer ocean cottage and were looking at building something new. I suggested taking a peek at reworking the existing and add to it. We did take a look but, in the end, opted for new with some features of the original. We kept the wrap around porch and the scale small with 2400 finished square feet for this 4 bedroom oceanfront home.
The stair is U shaped with two landings between floors for ease of transition up and down in a bay which bumps out to provide a view of the ocean. The First Floor is wide open but for an airlock vestibule on the roadside, a powder room, and a den with fireplace. Around the kitchen bay with the main cabinets there are no wall cabinets and just windows allowing for the view of the ocean and much light. There is a peninsula with seating and a dining area, all with plenty of views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Each of the upper 4 corners sports a bedroom and the Master pops out over the porch to gain some more room along with access to its’ own upper porch. The cathedral in the Master Bedroom has windows that follow the slope of the roof on the roadside in a playful manner. Traditional railings with flat stock receiving a patterned edge grace the deck and porch edges.

The last picture shows a recently added fun pot rack that a son in law did. He is an artist/craftsman and works a lot with free form wood pieces. Some driftwood runs from one arched window to the other and a series of S shaped hooks provide varying heights for the pots.
