In one of our homes when I was a kid we had a whole house vacuum cleaner. I think it is an OK idea but to me, and my boss, Erin, the Miele canister vacuums make the most sense. They are lighter than the big hose you get with the whole house vacuums and less entangling. Amazingly quiet too. The boss continually tells me how much she loves her Miele canister. I am not jealous. ;)
