Well Loved Landmark Barn Loved Again   Recently updated !

A cherished landmark barn just off of Short Sands at 7 Justin Circle in York, Maine has been lovingly brought to life again by Northeast Builders of York as a four bedroom beauty.  The rebirth had eluded many for a very long time.  My brain was blown up for a couple of weeks when Shannon Haas and Derek Larosse asked me to join this mission as I sought to have a way to design a home that would keep the barn with so many things awry.  All praise and honor and glory to Jesus with this one for sure.  It finally came to me to build an entirely new structure within the old.  Roofs and walls would have new rafters and studs just inboard.  All the interior posts and beams floating in mid air would be replaced with standard 2×10 joists on two bearing lines at the right height for comfortable ceiling heights.  One bed / study is on the first floor along with entry, mudroom, pantry, kitchen / dining, and living.  The second floor has the parent’s bedroom and two other bedrooms and a recreation room is on the top floor.  A lift is part of the scene to accommodate cycles of life.  The garage originally was going to only be able to handle one car.  I figured a way for it to be a two car garage and added a farmer’s porch.  Derek suggested the flared skirts and they managed the finishes.  The upstairs hall overlooks the entryway as well as the dining and living areas.  With a short walk to Short Sands, this landmark will remain in service thanks to the vision, tenacity, and love of Northeast Builders.
